The remarkable house reflects the owners’ vision of a seamless marriage between modern and traditional aesthetics, with a focal great room enhanced and expanded by additional elegant rooms and gathering areas, signature Witt built-ins, sleek interiors featuring warm, natural materials, a gourmet kitchen, luxurious master bedroom and bath and an in-ground pool area that blends the outdoors and the indoors in a continuously gracious and sophisticated, yet highly functional living space.

Architect Magazine Feature

Innovative, elegant, welcoming and functional. These are the words that describe a signature Witt home in the Old Stone Ridge neighborhood in Greenfield Center, spotlighted in prestigious Architect Magazine. Designed by President John Witt and kitchen designer Mary Alyce Evans of Designer’s Studio, the home was customized for empty-nesters who want convenience and casual living for two, with the flexibility of space — especially in the showcase kitchen — that can accommodate visiting family. A centerpiece is the spectacular view from their lot of the Adirondack Mountains and rural Vermont.

Can You Keep It a Secret!?

CAN YOU KEEP A SECRET? This house certainly can. Spotlighted on Pulptastic, a Witt Construction family room opening into a child’s special space for sleep, play and relaxing features a cleverly concealed entryway designed to ensure privacy and safety for the sanctuary’s young occupants.

2015 Bath Trends

However you may refer to your home’s restroom area, typical home-design is trending to spacious walk-in showers, free-standing bathtubs, heated floors and water-saving toilets.

With today’s busy lifestyles impacting eco-conscious homeowners and builders, designers are seeing a decrease in bath tub instillations. Instead, homeowners are spending their money on cavernous walk-in showers with elegant hand-held sprays, multiple shower heads and floor-to-ceiling tile and stonework.

For those homeowners who still prefer the classic bathtub, designers are encouraging an art deco look with freestanding tubs. Spa-quality jet bathtubs and large lay-down options are growing in popularity for those craving an in-home relaxing experience. While builders note a decline in installations of tubs, it is still possible to have the best of both worlds: a large walk-in-model shower and a beautiful and comfortable stand-alone tub.

Additionally, the movement to build eco-friendly homes has also spurred homeowners to purchase cost-saving and energy-efficient appliances, such as a toilet with low-flow and dual-flow options.

Other bathroom trends to expect for 2015 include heated floors, LED lighting, his-and-hers vanity with sinks, high-tech and sensor-operated faucets and metallic fixtures such as chrome, brushed nickel and oil-rubbed bronze.
