2015 Bath Trends

However you may refer to your home’s restroom area, typical home-design is trending to spacious walk-in showers, free-standing bathtubs, heated floors and water-saving toilets.

With today’s busy lifestyles impacting eco-conscious homeowners and builders, designers are seeing a decrease in bath tub instillations. Instead, homeowners are spending their money on cavernous walk-in showers with elegant hand-held sprays, multiple shower heads and floor-to-ceiling tile and stonework.

For those homeowners who still prefer the classic bathtub, designers are encouraging an art deco look with freestanding tubs. Spa-quality jet bathtubs and large lay-down options are growing in popularity for those craving an in-home relaxing experience. While builders note a decline in installations of tubs, it is still possible to have the best of both worlds: a large walk-in-model shower and a beautiful and comfortable stand-alone tub.

Additionally, the movement to build eco-friendly homes has also spurred homeowners to purchase cost-saving and energy-efficient appliances, such as a toilet with low-flow and dual-flow options.

Other bathroom trends to expect for 2015 include heated floors, LED lighting, his-and-hers vanity with sinks, high-tech and sensor-operated faucets and metallic fixtures such as chrome, brushed nickel and oil-rubbed bronze.
